Dr Kuri Feels Strongly about Building a Community of Support to Further his Patient’s Success

Last year we introduced the Online Kuri Patient Forum, where Bandsters and people interested in the Lap-Band could gain support, knowledge, and resourceful information to help aid in their new journey of living a healthier life.
Have you visited the Online Patient Forum recently? If not, you’re missing out! Due to patient feedback and requests, there has been a bunch of new changes since we first launched. It’s now easier to navigate, more organized, and has new and improved features. Let’s take a look at some of the new features the Forum has to offer!
One of our biggest patient requests, was to have fill providers available at your finger tips. Well, you spoke and we listened. We now have a Sub-Forum that contains all our fill providers listed for each individual state, and areas within that state. Each fill provider comes recommend by your fellow Bandsters and even includes feedback from their personal experiences.
We also have a separate section for all Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Diet information. The Sub-Forum allows you to view the diets for both the Liver Shrinking Diet (LSD) and the Post-Op Recovery Diet. You can also read frequently asked questions, get tips and menu ideas, get advice from fellow patients who have been on the diets, and more! Please Note: This Sub-Forum is for patients of Dr. Kuri who have been prescribed to follow a special Pre-Operative or Post-Operative diet. Both diets are designed for short term use to meet a medical outcome, and are not to be followed unless prescribed specifically by Dr Kuri or his team.
Another new addition to the Forum, is our Online Bandster Cookbook. This Sub-Forum was created to hold all our Bandster recipes. Here you can find free and tasty Band-friendly recipes for your cooking enjoyment. From breakfast to dinner, including mouth watering desserts, vegetarian, exotic foods, and even LSD recommendations, we are sure you’ll find something to test your culinary skills! You can even post your favorite Band-friendly recipe to share with others. Check back periodically to see what’s new!
We’re also excited to announce a new blog feature on our Forum. This allows patients, both pre-op and post-op, to share their experiences. It’s a great way to document your journey, share advice, and keep everyone posted on your progress (you know we are all rooting for you!). It doesn’t matter if you’re 10 days post-op, hit a plateau, put a few pounds back on, or are just now booking your surgery date – all are welcome! Each entry is a new chapter in your life, and a learning experience in someone else’s, so don’t be afraid to share. Best of all, it lets everyone know they are not alone. You never know who you might inspire by sharing your personal experience.
Don’t forget about our Technical Support Sub-Forum. It has been there since the beginning, but has some new additions. Now you can download one of our Forum guides, or view an instructional video at any time. If you ever need navigational instructions, tips, or just help in general, post it here.
