Christal shares her experience with Dr Kuri

OnNovember 30th, 2021, I got on a plane and flew into San Diego, CA and was met at the airport by Dr. Kuri’s driver, Iker. Iker was amazing. He took me for all my PreOp Appointments. He explained EVERYTHING to me and left no stone unturned. If I had questions, he had them covered before I could ask, plus what I didn’t think of.

Of course, JoAnn Jackson, RN, BSN, had already covered all the basis from the initial phone call all the way until I got off the plane. Everything was done and taken care of. I could not have asked for better care from start to finish. The whole process ran like a fine-tuned machine with a lot of care, compassion and TLC.

Mother of four loses 121 lbs with Dr Kuri

“I struggled with my weight my whole life,  and after each of my kiddos – I put more and more weight on and was never able to get it off.  I spent almost 20 years raising four kids and putting myself on the back burner. Making the decision to have bariatric surgery in October of 2021 was the best thing I have ever done for myself.

A year later I am down 121 pounds and I feel like I have my life back. Being able to do simple things with ease and grace that I wasn’t able to do before feels amazing.

Lorin’s weight loss journey with Dr Kuri

I started out at 305 lbs.  I had high cholesterol, blood pressure, and was pre-diabetic.  At my 6 month mark after surgery, I had lost 107 lbs and was down from 305 lbs to 198 lbs.  For the last 6 months I have maintained my weight loss and all of my medical conditions are gone.  I eat healthier and a lot less now.

I conditioned my body for 10 months and I am starting to eat foods now that I didn’t eat the first 10 months after surgery, but only in moderate portions.  For instance, a lettuce wrap, cheese burger; but no fries.  Or a small macaroni and cheese from Chic Fil-A.  However, that is only once a week.  I do not over do it.  I only drink water, iced tea, or diet 5 juice.  No alcohol.  No soda.  I only vomited one time, and that was right after the 30 day mark.  I think it was caused by anxiety.

Young Father is 100 lbs lighter with Dr Kuri

Gregory O, a young father and patient of Dr Kuri underwent Gastric Sleeve Surgery in Mexico in June of 2021. One year following surgery, Gregory is 100 lbs lighter and continuing to lose weight. Greg recently reached out to us on Facebook sharing some of his before and after photos.

“This was one of the best decisions I made in my life to stay healthy. A decision made not only for myself, but for my children and my family. My Dad passed away at an early age, and so did his father. I didn’t want to be that Dad that was gone to soon. I often wish I still had my Dad to call, to help work out my problems as I stumble upon them in my life. It is so valuable to have another man’s point of few as you navigate the obstacles of this life. So I did what I needed to do, and started working on my personal goals. I made some hard decisions. Still to this day, I continually work to achieve my goals and dreams. I will never give up, and I always live my life to the best of my ability.”
