Allison, 27 from Australia recently lost 100 lbs and counting 6 months after having Gastric Sleeve Surgery.  The mother of three young children ballooned to a size 20, weighing in excess of 275 lbs at her heaviest.

The young mother was experiencing some severe health problems after three difficult pregnancies in three years.  Her doctors warned her that if she didn’t do something to shed the weight, she would be facing serious health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, gallbladder disease, and heart problems.  Allison struggled to find the energy to exercise and diet to lose the weight.  She worried that she wouldn’t be able to be the best mother she could be because she was always so tired and fatigued.

Allison admits much of this was due to her very poor diet consisting of junk foods, chocolate, and heavy carbohydrate laden meals such as Chinese takeout, pizza, french fries, burritos, burgers, and other fast foods.  She also admits being addicted to chocolate.  “I think I was so addicted to Chocolate because I was constantly restricting myself with diets.  Diets that would ultimately fail.  When I failed at a diet or was about to start a diet, I would binge and try and eat as much as possible.  I would do this because in my mind, I would think that this would be the last time I would be “allowed” to have this type of food.”

Allison’s doctor recommended she have Gastric Sleeve Surgery to lose the weight.  She had attempted many different diets and nutrition programs with little to no success.  Her ability to exercise was limited due to her large size, health problems, and limited time due to caring for three small children.

Allison began losing weight shortly following surgery.  Six months after surgery, Allison has lost over 100 lbs and all of her health problems have disappeared.  Her energy has also returned as well as her confidence.  “I’m way more energetic now.  I run around with my kids and they’re really enjoying it!  My four-year-old said “Mom, you used to not run around with us, and you used to run out of breath when you did, but now you don’t!”

The super slimmer Mom of three is also more confident and exchanging her baggy clothes for dresses, shorts, and other form fitting outfits.  “Now I wear what I want, not just what fits.  I wore short for the first time in about six years recently and I had the confidence to wear them out of the house.  My son said to me “Mom, you never wear shorts, but you should because you look so pretty.”

Allison is very happy with her decision to have Gastric Sleeve Surgery.  “I’m so glad I was brave enough to meet with the surgeon and go through with the surgery because it was the best thing I’ve ever done.  Now that I’ve finally succeeded in losing weight, I am on the road to where I want to be.”
